Getting Started

What is an eSIM?

An eSIM, short for Embedded Subscriber Identity Module, is a tiny chip that is integrated into a mobile device, such as a smartphone or a tablet.
It serves the same function as a physical SIM card, allowing the device to connect to a mobile network and access voice, text, and data services.
However, unlike a physical SIM card, an eSIM is built into the device and cannot be removed or replaced. Instead, the user can activate or switch between mobile network carriers using a software-based process, which can be done directly from the device’s settings menu or through an app provided by the carrier.
The eSIM function is available on newer models of iPhone, Samsung, and even some laptops like Dell or HP. You can see the list of eSIM compatible devices here.
